Reading because of the title? you'll be disappointed because its just a movie title. Yes, its a hong kong movie, aired in 2003 starring louis koo, eason chan, nikki chow & jess sum. I'm watching entirely because of nikki & jess.

Its been long time since i've seen you, even your latest movies & dramas i did not watch. But you know that i still love you right? continue the hard work, i'll be supporting you always.

Regret....

I'm starting to feel that I chose the wrong course...main reason? (reason 3 could be boring if you're not in mechanical engineering course)

1. after going through 4 semesters, with 3 big projects in 3 of the semesters, I failed all 3....

2. It seems like i'm not fated enough with all those machineries, especially parts...i'm trying to like them but obviously they dislike me...

3. scanned through the core units that I have to take next year in Third year, there is :

i) Mechanics of solids 2 <- this one still okay, since I'm doing pretty well in mechanics of solids 1 this sem.

ii) System dynamics and control, prerequisite : Engineering Dynamics <- in which i did really badly last sem. i'm terribly bad at dynamics >.>

iii) Fluid mechanics <- still okay, thermofluid this sem is not that hard.

iv) manufacturing Engineering (should be okay seeing the assumed knowledge course & prerequisite)

v) Engineering management <- sort of continuation from Professional engineering 1 (one of the 3 that i mentioned above). furthermore, there will be essays & reports writing!! i'm doomed....

vi) Mechanical design 2 (continuation from mechanical design 1, another one of the 3)....

vii) Materials 2 <- continuation from materials 1 (almost killed by it last sem, next year will have to see that 2-inch-thick-book again....)

viii) thermal engineering <- thermodynamics stuffs, if i were to say, this will be the easiest UoS (unit of study) in sem 2, even though it is really hard to begin with...

In short, it seems like i'll be half dead in the first sem, and completely screwed in the 2nd sem...at this rate, i'm not sure whether i can make it into honours program in the 4th year...don't even say trying to achieve first class....

Ahhhhh I really do regret now...I should have just taken Science, majoring in physics or maybe chemistry although i don't like chemistry as much...or maybe follow my bro to be a pharmacist...damn it, i really hate engineering now.

Went out for lunch, without bring my phone along. By the time I got back, there is a miss call notification, and that was already half hour ago. I called back, not knowing what happened, and the first call has those sort of signal disturbance, we can't hear each other clearly. hanged up, and call again. calling failed for like 3 to 4 times, diverted to voice mails another couple of times, i guess she's calling me back at the same time, and that continued for like another 6-7 mins.

By the time the call finally got through with clear sound, she sound so anxious and by her voice, I can tell that she's been crying (and still crying). As she tells me her problem (computer work related), I tried my best providing solution based on what i know, as well as some Googgling. Unfortunately, at the end of the 50 mins conversation, problem could not be solved, and she has to start doing all over again.

I feel terribly sorry and I don't even know how to console her in midst of her panic....guess i'm still inexperienced in handling this kind of situation especially in front of a weeping counterpart. Yes, I will feel extremely bad seeing a girl cry, no matter the reason is because of me or not (of course, I'll feel even worse if its because of me). Even in movies/dramas, seeing the actresses cry made me feel bad.

Even until now, thinking back that she could have been crying for 30 mins before I called her back, I feel really sorry. Especially when I can't be of any help at all...If I could be of any help to her at the very least, I won't feel this bad but now.......I can only hope that she'll be fine soon. God bless her. Sorry for being so helpless.........

The Story Of 2 Idiots

Well, I'm back...sort of, just to tell a super short story about 2 idiots.

Idiot 1 & Idiot 2 were close friends (I wont say they're best friend, they are not at least from my perspective). One day, Idiot 1 suddenly says to Idiot 2 : "huh? what? who are you?"

Idiot 2, being a considerate friend, just leave Idiot 1 alone guessing he's has some personal problem troubling him. But Idiot 1 has been doing that for days, and Idiot 2 has grown impatience, and when Idiot 1 did the same thing again, Idiot 2 decided to reply : "What, i'm not talking to you. By the way, do I know you?" Idiot 1 then say : "no I don't know you, and not planning to either".

Thereafter, Idiot 1 & Idiot 2 has never talk to each other again, nor do anything together, for a minimal of 4 years (if my memory serve). The end~~~

Memories

Recently, I've been reversing my daytime, i.e sleeping at 11am & wake up at 6pm?

But, thanks to that, I was able to obtain back lots of memories where some of them had started to fade.

I stare at the 6.40 am sky here, it reminds me of the days where I woke up at 5.30 am, prepare everything & went downstairs to wait for the school bus. For your info, they are the same : 6.40 am at KL & 5.30 am at SDK.

I went to the playground late at night, that's the place where tonnes of events had occurred starting 1st July 2008 until today, almost the end of 2009. It was the place where we celebrated countless birthday : Sarah's, Wei Khang's, Yat Seng's but sorry, not Calvin's for yours were held at "another" playground. There were many more birthday celebrations which I can't recall at the moment as well as other events like the mooncake festival this year.

There will be another week for me here, Home Alone 5, before everyone is back for a 4 days 3 night BTN camp. Still have a few things to be done :

1. Buy 2~3 "white coloured" short sleeve shirt as in our secondary school uniform (but I know no one will get those as well as myself).

2. Buy 2~3 "white coloured" t-shirt with collar (where the heck can I find these?)

3. Complete & return those forms to KBU, to get back the so called "security deposit" but t.The money won't go to me T.T The sad thing is, I have to return my student card together with it which means from the moment I returned it, I can't get student price for movies anymore.

4. Fill in the BTN participant form (seriously I haven't even go through the form yet)

5. Start packing my luggage, as I am GOING HOME soon!! But still, there will be a few drawbacks : No McD, blackout as frequent as twice a day, lousy cinema (I'll miss GSC), no FREE internet connection, bla bla bla...

**A gentle reminder to any KBU's JPA scholar batch 2008 who so faithfully following my blog until now and at a same time haven't done items 1 to 4, please do so ya.

BTW, when is the stupid psycho briefing?? Don't tell me its gonna cause trouble to me again. Anytime before the camp is definitely okay for me, but I dunno bout Ming Chai them, if it were sooner than 6th Dec. But, don't you dare set it AFTER 14th Dec. Remember this.

Octoberfest

Well, on top of everything, this blog has officially became a personal blog, no longer an academic blog. **and the update will be as little as possible, or sometimes none.

I hope i spelled the name correctly, Octoberfest. Well, I went there because Frankie told me there's a beer fest where 1 small bottle only cost rm1.00 (For OneCard member & you have to bring 2x 50 sen coin).

As always, for I'm not so good with alcohols (and they don't like me much as well), I ended up "drunk"? Not that serious actually, its just that my face went red, as well as my eyeballs (the extreme red as if I didn't sleep for 3 days). My head is producing beats with my heart, lupp dupp lupp dupp~~

For Edwin & Chang Vin, ended up buying the irresistable pointy hat, which made Shun Ling looks like a witch (so they say).

Well, maybe this bottle of beer can be considered as a celebration. What celebration? The END of my AUSMAT course la, abuden? There are 4 more days to go, to the beginning of the External TEE exam (a bit redundant actually, as TEE stands for Tertiary Entrance Examination).
On the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 11th November, and THAT'S IT!! I'm DONE!! I'll be completely FREE after the 11th paper, which is Applicable Math. But, if you know me well enough, I'm considered free as soon as I finished the Chemistry paper on the 6th. Muahahaha

So, what's gonna be? Seeing everyone in Australia next year? Or....CHOI!! touch wood...
Allrighty, so its time to finally do some revision, the final struggle. Hopefully can study something, before I head over to House #71 for DoTA (=.=""), if the alcohol didn't take me down that's it.

1st, this is for Sarah, for copying her latest style of posting - sorry & thanks.

Allright, you don't have to confirm with me or tell me again, I know that I was, I am, and I will be like that. You are not the 1st to tell me about this and I know you won't be the last. But as I always say to Jas, "old habits die hard" then she'll sigh and she'll say something to make me feel better. I forgot what she always say but the main point is, I knew I am like that.

Sometimes, I act such way unconsciously, even I myself didn't know that my actions/words are causing such heavy damage, until someone tell me, hint me about it. They really have my gratitude here for letting me know.

But however (such redundancy), sometimes I really do it intentionally, for I know (I thought I know) that some people can receive it, and then they'll shoot me back and soon, everyone will "sampuk" and join together, finally we all laugh. Its still a way of interaction isn't it? Or rather, I would say a miscommunication? Some people only pretend to be able to receive it, put up a fake smile maybe, but deep inside them, they're already cursing, with the strong intend to throw a punch right?

So, the lesson of the story? Do not assume so much? Do not be deceived by a person's reaction? Think twice before saying anything? Always say something nice(even if its not what you really want to say)? Nah, like I care. Whatever you all out there want to think of me, its up to you. Who am I with such power to change your thinking? I'm not a psychologist, I'm not your father, I'm just a nobody to you. All I can do here is only one thing, whether you accept it or not, again, its your choice. SORRY.

I Miss Those Days

I miss those days where I don't have to worry about my meals of the day - my mum will take care everything (not breakfast but lunch, tea break, dinner, supper)

I miss those days where my mum will ask me to do practically-theoretically-logically-NOTHING during my exam periods (except ask me to eat when lunch & dinner is ready)

I miss those days where my dad will periodically come in & check whether I'm really studying or doing something else **wicked smile**

I miss those days where nothing was distracting me (my laptop, my handphone, etc...)

I miss those days where I have a bunch of friends whom I can gossip with AT THE SAME TIME as we are studying.

I miss those days where my dad will force me to go sleep - nobody forcing me now, as a result I owez sleep at 4am

I miss those days where my mum will wake me up latest by lunch time - nobody do so now, as a result I sleep until 3pm

I miss those days where we went to school but the teachers are not teaching anything (but amazingly I will go & study with those 2 who always study)

I miss those days where electricity cut-off was part of nature(it still is), encouraging me to study whenever I have the chance, scared that it will happen the days before exam. so, NO LAST MINUTE

I really miss those days...

Is Tony going to crap all his nonsense about exams & tests again???
Hell no, not this time. Even Tony has grew tired with that.

So, what will be topic again?

Noooooo!!!! The so called "Tony-with-his-very-own-thought" has run out of thought this time??

Nah, quit messing around & get straight to the point. I believe that Tony has something up his sleeve since he decided to browse into this page & YES, something has finally came across his mind and ridiculously, 1 of the point arrived when he's sitting on the toilet bowl (yucks).

Alright, this time around, the theme will be about FOOD (come to think about it, this will be the 1st time Tony posted something about food) - everyone's favourite especially Seow Fern. For everything related to food, she'll be the 1st one that we relate with. No matter how hard Tony tries, he can never describe the expression on Fern's face (especially with "our writer's" narrow range of vocab) whenever it comes down to food. Unbelievably, Tony observed the same expression from Ms Poh Hui, during the day before Calvin's birthday, when we talked about the steamboat. Well, when it comes to some really nice, delicious, awesome food? I bet Tony will have the same face when his favourite foods are served in front of him, yeah?

But, but.....hold on a sec...In fact, do I even know what Tony's favourite food(s) is/are? I knew that he likes cakes, egg tarts, steaks, fast foods (McD, pizza, KFC, etc...), snacks, chocolates & ice cream, but which of these is his real fav? Or is it even in the list? I guess that I will not know it for now, and I'm sure that time will reveal everything.

**I just asked Tony about that, and guess his answer? "I dunno oh...really, not so sure about that."

First of all, I am so glad that the mock exam is coming soon. (Are you crazy? Everyone has been so anxious & scared about it and now you're saying that you're glad?) Do not misinterpret me, I am glad not because I finished my revision or because I have full confidence that I can score or whatever, it was simply because after the mock exam, I can finally go home after such a long time, my REAL home. Hold on, I did make a countdown on that.....yes, its 14 days more to mock, so that makes 26 days more to KLIA, oops, to HOME! (yea, this will be my very 1st time ever going to KLIA.
(Hey, why can't you just focus on our theme today?? $%^&&*)

Okay okay. So here is the plan after going home. 1st, I will request my dear mum to cook me lots & lots of nice home-cooked food. I always heard dad bragging how nice they were (especially those that mum newly-learned) and I don't care, I'm gonna eat like crazy during that 2 weeks. And also, I will have mum teach me how to boil soup ("sang dei tong", "zap choi tong", "lobak tong", "yuchi gua tong", "sei yong choi tong", "gau gei tong", etc...)*all in cantonese*. Everyday learn 1 type, so everyday can taste different soup (that's the main purpose actually).

Eh, but before that, there's something need to be eaten right here in KL before leaving. This I told Wei Khang before and the 1st thing he suggested is Dragon-i. Of course, that will be taken into consideration. Things that came into my mind were the meatball & chicken wings at Ikano food court, the beef steak at Arena food court (yeah, that's the only nice thing I find there), a few pieces of cakes from Secret Recipe & dinner with Uncle Hing(as he will bring me to different places with superb food everytime).

Halt!! Can you do all that? Your mock exam end on the 19th & your flight is on the 21st. There are so much to eat but you only have approximately 1 1/2 days.

Ahh, who cares, I will be back after the 2 weeks holiday anyway & I have almost 1 months before the TEE exam after that. **You stupid writer, I know you're going to stop me again to tell me that I should take care of my health.** Of course I know about that so here, I promise...not you la, #$%^& writer, the promise is to my dad & mum that I will not eat too "hotty" food so frequent ok?

Oh yeah, before I forgot - the toilet bowl-related idea. Theoretically yesterday's lunch time, I ordered a bowl of "wantan mee" with curry chicken. As always, Keng Chai said the same thing whenever he saw that bowl of curry-chicken-wantan-mee : "Everytime I ate this, I will have diarrhea for the whole night" and as usual, my reply was : "You said that again, but nothing seems to be wrong with me for the past few time?" Today, I finally agree with Keng Chai that somewhat he's "corraict". I defecated around 4 times today (apa pulak "around" 4 times? No. of times of defecation is discrete la...its either 3, 4 or 5 times). Alright alright you win ok? I defecated 4 times (including the daily-routine-normal-one)

So, what could that possible mean? Are you telling me that you're having less and less choice of meal in ATC Kopitiam? Ever since the cockroach-nasi-masak-halia case, you already leave that stall out and now you're boycotting another one? What are you going to eat for another few months? Maybe for once in a week you can go to the cafe & have your pepper chicken rice, but what about the rest of the days? Don't forget about your dinner too!

Blah la you. How the hell do I know. Just go eat whatever that comes to mind la. Maybe sometimes cycle all the way to 双喜 in Pelangi Damansara? Or maybe just maggi for dinner? Just bear with it lor, only around 2 months left what.

OK, so this will be the end of our interview with Mr. Tony, who will be completing his AUSMAT by the end of this year and proceed to Australia next year. Hope to see you again (maybe not), Mr Tony, and thanks for the BOOORING interview. !@#$%^

As of today, 12-09-2009, we only have 29 days towards the Mock Exam (27 for German class) and 83 days until the REAL TEE Exam.

For we have completely finished the syllabus for Calculus & Applicable Math, Chemistry towards the last part (and last lab class too!!!), 2 more accessment for EALD, and sorry to say that Ms Say you are the slowest (and that's why she'll give 2 extra classes on the coming 2 consecutive Saturdays T.T). All that left now is up to the students themselves, OURSELVES to do their (our) own revision, dig back all the exercises of those early chapters, and most importantly, TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES & DO NOT EVER FALL SICK (again - if you are currently sick).

And so, let the Mock come faster, then I'll be back in my hometown after 9 months.
Let the TEE be a history soon, then we'll all be free and then we'll meet again in Australia!!

Its Autumn

Although Malaysia is an equator country, and there is no seasonal effect, no winter, no snow, no summer, no heat. But still, we kind of experience those effect, like we feel the scorching sun during April~June, we feel cooler air during Christmas, and now, its July, leaves on the trees are turning colour, from green to red, then to yellow or orange, and finally fall down to the Earth. Hence, its "Falling Leaves" by Adeline Yen Mah - The memoir of an Unwanted Chinese Daughter. (seems like I'm doing publishing here)

Look at the trees, those pictures are taken today, at KBU International College. Beautiful aren't they? Those red spots in between green leaves, looking just like fruits but actually they are dying leaves, getting ready to leave their mother tree and being decomposes by bacteria, contributing back to the tree in form of minerals. This is the life cycle of the leaves, but what about us?

Lets take today's test as example, before the test, i saw people relaxing - happy go lucky, I saw people studied intensively(last minute though), I saw people sleeping(I was 1 of them), and etc..
After the test, I saw people leaving the room full of confident, I saw sad faces, I saw faces of relief and I saw people blaming themselves for doing stupid mistakes.

But before that, ask yourselves a few questions : 1) Did you study and prepare for it?
2) Did you give it all your best during the test? 3) Did you realize your mistakes after that & learn to avoid it in the future?

If your answer for all 3 questions are YES, then you should be proud of yourself. Even if you get low marks for that, there is nothing to be ashamed of, for you had done your best. But if your answers are NO and you get low marks, you deserve it. You shouldn't be blaming anyone, i.e "the questions are so hard", or "the time allocated is not sufficient la" or "Ms Effa & Ms Kong never teach that la" etc.. Instead, you should take this as a lesson and re-evaluate yourself for what you did; not doing exercises given, not paying attention during class, last minute preparation and so on.

So, for those who think they didn't do so well, think again (sounds so familiar heh?)
There are always room for improvements and although the Mock and TEE exam are not far away, they're not too soon either. Lets all do our best and lets make a promise, we're going to meet at Australia next year OK?

Walauweh its 1st of July!!

Guys & gals, remember what is the significance of this date? Well, to be exact, I should mention 1st of July 2008. Its the 1st day we were here, at this very lovely and memorable KBU International College + Student House/Hostel.

Remember what happened back then? Everyone 1st gathered at the foyer, wondering : "Where shall I go?", waiting for directions and instructions. Not forgetting to mention, luggage and bags were everywhere in the lobby as I recall. Some early birds, took the advantage & went to explore around(especially looking for the toilet) and I'm one of them. Finally, the time came when everyone is to go inside the MPH. Seeing new faces everywhere, most of us started to intro ourselves to others, as well as looking around(again). There are some food and drinks served there, and Fern, was that your first stop?

Then it started with a talk from the KBU staffs, followed by the JPA & YTM officers. I can't remember correctly as which comes 1st, registration or the talk. Anyway, lets move on, its registration time. There were several counters, one side is the sponsors, and another part is the KBU registration, where we get our KBU t-shirt, as well as the house/room we are assigned to.

Did anything special happened to you back then? For me, yes. Being too excited to leave my hometown and study alone, I got too carried away & as a result, I did not prepare well before I left my house(the 1 in Sandakan) and I actually forgot to bring a copy of my guarantor's(my dad) IC. Panicked, I called my parents, and as usual, I was lectured but I knew, they were more worried than I was. Sorry for being to clumsy. Luckily, the problem was solved with the help of Alexander Bain - the inventor of the great device named "Fax Machine"

After everything was done, its time to move to our respective accomodation. Some went to the hostel, and some followed the vans & busses to the student houses. There (here would sound better I think)we got to know who our roommate(s) as well as housemates, not to forget my "toilet-mate". Again, we started introducing again, the parents started to talk about their sons/daughters, and then exploring around the house and the house(s) next door. And so, our journey of pre-u studies began.

Last but not least, about the title. That term is not used just for fun but actually brings a great meaning behind it. Well, as some of you may already noticed it since the 1st sight of that term, its our beloved, dearest, Snow-White-Physics-lecturer's Birthday!! Alas, she is going to have us do 2 lab reports despite that it is such a beautiful day. Anyway,

Courage, Determination & Confidence

Did you often find yourself not brave enough? Or you tends to give up on something just because you are not determined enough to do it? Or you always think that you cannot achieve something due to lack of self-confidence? Well, if that's the case, its time to change yourself.

Had you ever find it hard to make up your mind? The situation where you are struggling with your inner self whether you should do it or leave it. At the same time, you noticed there are those people around you, who can instantly decide as soon as they are asked about something or they encounter some sort of circumstances which will only cause you dilemma. Maybe after you see their courageous decision, you'll say to yourself : "If he can do it, why can't I?" and hence you decided to give it a go. It is correct to say that you gained confidence in it, but unfortunately, its not from your own - it was provided from people around you and therefore, you won't be as determined for the upcoming events.

So, here are some tips on overcoming these weaknesses. In fact, I am also learning as you do.

1.Spend Time With Positive People.

Unfortunately, sometimes when we lack self confidence we can gravitate towards people who instinctively like to put others down. (This behaviour is rooted in their own insecurities - they knock other people to make themselves feel better). However, spending time with negative people is inevitably very bad for our self confidence. Look closely at the people you spend your time with, if they are always criticizing you (either directly or indirectly) try spend more time with people who don’t.

2.Be Yourself - Don’t Imitate

You can only gain self-confidence when you are trying to be yourself. In some social situations we feel awkward so the temptation is to do what you think other people expect; we try to be somebody we are not. But, when we are trying to be someone that we are not, inevitably we lack self-confidence because the element of falseness in being something we are not.

3.Give Yourself a chance to succeed.

If you lack self confidence, it is a bigger mistake to always hold yourself back. Try inspiring yourself to give some activities a chance. If you never attempt anything and avoid engaging in social activities, it is likely that your self-confidence will never get chance to be rebuilt.

4.Dress Confidently

If you are immune to the opinion of the world, and care nothing for outer appearances you can dress like a street beggar and still have self esteem. However, for most of us we do place great value on our physical appearance. This may be a sub conscious feeling. But, if we dress in a confident and appropriate style we will be much more self confident. One doesn’t need to spend a fortune on clothes, but, it is important to have the ability to dress in a way we are happy with.

5.Don’t Criticize Others

The human mind can be tricky at times. Quite often the mind tries to boost our self esteem by criticizing and denigrating others. The mind feels that if we point out the weaknesses of others we can feel somehow ’superior’ to others. This however, is a false way to boost self esteem. When we criticize other people, we are in a negative frame of mind and we are more likely to doubt ourselves. The thing to do is look for the best in others. If you try and boost other people’s self esteem it will be much easier to increase your own self esteem.

Well, all I can say is that when you have decided to do something, give it your best shot and do not regret your decision after that, as that will not change anything. Be proud of whatever you did and live life to the fullest.

Foul Language

When a person uses foul languages or those swear words, lets say the "f" word, does that means the person is rude, uncivilized, impolite and etc? Lets take an example :

"oh f**k, i don't have small change. Please hold on while i call my husband?"

So, in this case, is this person insulting someone? or is she being rude?

Every language has its own foul words, and I guess everyone noticed that without the need for me to give any examples of those I know. In our daily life, those words are heard everywhere: in the streets, in movies and sometimes in the newspaper too or even from the mouth of a children. Do you ever wonder why such words are created or by who? Some claim that it has became their culture to use those words, just like the Chinese in SEA using words such as 'la', 'loh', and 'aiyo' where they find it extremely normal to use such words.

As human, I'm sure that after being exposed so much to this, one opt to use these words unconsciously. Although most of the time one can control himself from saying such words, but there are times in life where some unforeseeable situation happens, and hence the so called "art of speech" will just pop out from nowhere.

So, its foul language or just figure of speech? Its all up to you to decide, but still, think twice before using such language as not all people are used to it and they find it offensive. Hatred and aversion often born from misunderstanding and, to avoid is better than to cure.

Personal Belongings

Do you know what is meant by personal? Privacy? Some items are bought for personal use, not for public and especially not for YOU & I bet that you don't even know whose item you're using. If you idiot want to use those items, please go & buy for yourself, not to use others without even asking & what's worse is that you do not use them in a proper manner, leaving a feeling of disgust for the owner when he use them after you. If you are really so pathetic & can't afford it, at least you ask for permission before you even use it.
I found that such people are really dreadful. They tends to treat everything found within their sight as their belongings & hence they are obliged to used them as if its a sin for not using them. "You are not the only person living here...Hello??" However, when it comes to the other way round, they will feel like somebody else stealing from them just like how I feel now. They never realize that they did the same thing to others all the time.

I don't know whether you'll be reading this or not but here, I want to warn "those people" for one last time :

"Don't ever do that for a second time or else, do not blame me for my cruelty."

Remembering

What you are going to read next is obviously not my piece of work, as it is far astounding than I ever could write, way beyond my imagination & greatly surpassed my ability. Still, I would like to share this masterpiece of his to all of you who haven't read it before. Here goes:

The first thing she saw when she opened the door, was him. Lying on the couch, dead sleep, still, with that gentle snore. The snore, that familiar soft toad’s croaking, reminded her of how long she hadn’t been home.

And she remembered that night when she first found him sleeping on the couch when she came home late. She woke him up, and asked him why didn't he sleep upstairs instead. Rubbing his eyes with one hand and stroking her face with the other, he replied,

“Coz the bed’s not a resting place without you.”

The house was orderly, much to her surprise. Maybe not spick and span, and certainly not as clean as she'd have kept it had she been around. But clean it was, nevertheless. The dining area had fresh flowers on top. The curtains were neatly drawn behind the lace. The kitchen sink was empty and dry.

She remembered those days when he would walk in from work, drop the bag onto the floor, tear his shirt off and have it flung across the hall, grab her hand, plop her onto the couch, collapse into her lap and fall into a deep sleep. She remembered the times when she complained and scolded him for being such a mess – and messy too – yet his reply, though said when half asleep, brought a smile to her face,

“Coz you’re the one thing right in my life. The rest doesn't matter as much.”

She saw the stethoscope on the dining table, and a tear came to her eye. She remembered how hard he had worked to become a doctor. She remembered preparing coffee as he studied late into the night, preparing for the final specialist paper. And all the char siew pao she sneaked into the doctor’s rest stations in the wards for him to gobble in between duty hours! The day he finally walked out of the panel interview rooms – the last and most difficult part of the final paper – beaming with joy and pride, he took her hands, fought back his tears and whispered into her ears,

“This is all that I’ve worked for, and this is all that you truly deserve.”

Near the stethoscope was a loaf of bread. She then remembered that particular evening when she had stumbled across a tupperware in his bag. There was a sandwich, with butter and sugar, but the bread had round holes all over. Weird, she thought, and as she took the sandwich out to throw it away, she saw the loaf of bread on the table. Expired, and mouldy. Angry, disappointed and hurt, she confronted him. She yelled and shouted at him. He would take her out every Sunday night to the nicest restaurants in town, and he was eating mouldy bread on weekdays. How could you still eat mouldy bread? How could you spend so much on me and starve yourself? She finally succumbed into his arms, and his soft response broke her heart into a thousand pieces,

“I’m sorry that I can’t give you the best that you deserve, but I’m never sorry that I give you my best that I can afford, in whatever way possible.”

Just a few more years, and I promise you that things will get better.

He coughed, and her thoughts stirred. She turned around, just in time to see him turn over onto his other side on the couch, and the gentle snore went back into rhythm. She gazed at a tired man, a weary doctor, a burdened soul. She remembered those young and youthful days, when they had exchanged ideals of the future and talked about what life would be next time. And when it came to his turn, he never really talked about being a doctor.

And one day, while they were both lying on the green pastures in New Zealand on a lazy weekend – breaking away from their different routines and classes in uni – she asked him again about his dreams. Don’t you want to save the world?

“I'd rather be a champion in your heart than try save the world.”

They had returned to Malaysia together. While he was still a houseman and they, a young couple, every morning before the sun rose, she would send him off to work with a flask of hot coffee and an apple. How he would routinely turn around at the door, put away his bag and the flask, hold her face, kiss her on the forehead, look her in the eyes and say,

“I’ll come back and get you... after saving the world.” And that cheeky smile all over his face!

And he never failed with that promise. No matter how late and how tired, no matter the number of calls and the overtime duties, he still returned to her. He would be grouchy and grumpy, complaining of backaches and sores, but he still came back. Didn’t that matter enough? Shouldn’t that matter enough?

Somehow she survived those years of being there for him, but after he became a specialist, after he came back from serving in Somalia with the Malaysian peacekeeping troops, things changed. The fire in his eyes, the ‘going-out-to-save-the-World’ spirit, the passion of healing and treating patients, simply disappeared. He would no longer come home with that usual smile on his face. He no longer grabbed her from behind by surprise and spun her around. He just simply put down the bag, took off his shirt, gently dragged her up the stairs, and slept on her lap. No more conversations, no more laughter, no more surprises.

So when an offer came from Price Waterhouse, she took it up. It wasn’t that she wanted to leave him, rather she no longer knew how to stay on. And that night when she broke the news to him, he just looked down at the floor, stumped, and asked quietly,

“When will you come back?”

She was walking out, bitter, hurt, and disappointed. Why don't you fight for me?Why don't you at least stop me? Why let me walk out? Couldn't you at least tell me how much you'd miss me?

And he said right before she opened the door, "Darling, I need you."

You need me? Is it just the lap that you use as a pillow, or am I the cheap servant that manages your house? She regretted the way she lashed out at him as his reply came softly,

"I need you because I love you."

2 months ago, when she walked out with the luggage bag, she hated herself so much. She despised herself for leaving the man that stood by her, the only man that fought for her, the only man that would cry for and over her. 2 months of staying with her parents made her realize, that while he needed her to manage his life, she too simply couldn’t live without him.

The TV in front of him was on, volume at its lowest. She pulled the remote out of his hands, intending to turn it off when she recognized the video that was on TV. It was the video they filmed together when he first left for NZ, a year before her. How they had teased each other on the camcorder, how they had laughed and joked about meeting hot chicks and cute boys over in NZ, and how he finally looked straight into the camcorder and said,

“Darling, my home is built in your hands.”

Now sitting beside him, she finally realized that she was more than just a wife, or a lover, or a girl that was always behind and beside him when he needed her the most. Home was never a home without her. His home was built upon that relationship, that love. And that night when she walked out on him, his home disappeared, his home left him.

Home is never a home without you.

She snuggled up to him, allowing him to wrap his arms around her. If she could, she would never want him to let her go, ever. Feeling the warmth of his chest and listening to his heartbeat, she knew that it wasn’t by chance or mistake that she had finally sent in the resignation letter and repacked her belongings. She had worried about how she’d have to walk in, pondered about how he would react when she walked in, and even had a whole ‘I’m Sorry’ speech ready in her pocket.

Those worries? Flew out of her mind and along with the rolling tears, when she heard him mumble in his sleep, right into her ears just like old times,

“Darling… I’m home.”

Everyone tell lies, are they not? Is there anyone here dares to stand up & says that he/she never lies? If anyone does, one definitely contradicting himself/herself as he/she is lying right at that moment.

Most of the time, when someone is trying to lie to you, you may notice it by the way he/she talk or from his/her facial's expression or at least you will doubt it as you are confident that you are correct and he's wrong. However, what if thousands/millions or even everyone around you are telling you the same thing which you are sure it was a lie at first? You will now doubt yourself & tend to deceive yourself that you are wrong the whole time.

When do we lie?

when one did something wrong & does not wish anyone to know it.
when one had to keep a secret but being forced to reveal it.
when one is trying to cover another lie.
when one doesn't want his/her loved one to be hurt by the truth, hence so-called white lies.

when one is trying to hide something from anyone

Within just a few minutes, I can come out with this much reasons & excuses for telling lies and yet, I believe there are more and more, just you name it. There is a person I know "which"(later you will know why I use which instead of who) is an expert in lying. From the moment I know him(it), almost 98% of what he said were lies. Even after his friends found out that he's bluffing, he will create more and more nonsense lies to cover the 1st one. Such scenario continued for years and for this kind of people, we refer "it" as a firedog. I really can't understand why he likes to bluff so much. Is it fun? I remembered that I read an article in a magazine(which I forgot which and when) about a "Lying Contest". There's this guy, who won the contest, which at first he is very proud of himself, for possessing such a great ability. Ironically, he soon finds that all his friends and even relatives are staying away from him ever since. Every single word coming from him seems to be very honest & extremely convincing, but it turns out that they're all lies. Can you imagine yourself hanging out with such a person? where you will have to think several times before you believe anything coming out from him, even it is as simple as : "I'll be right back in a minute."

After reading through the boring & irritating idea of lies, here's some jokes for you (they are still related to lies though). Enjoy!!

Susie is doing her housekeeping as usual, until she finally notices a box which is kept under their bed and she normally won't bother cleaning there as the bed is almost as low as the floor. As she opens the box, she found a few eggs and few hundred bucks inside. After thinking for quite some times, she finally decided to call her husband Frank to ask about it.

"Oh that, for every lie I told you, I will put an egg inside."

Being angry at first, soon calmed down as she realizes a few lies over the years are still acceptable.

"What about those cash?"

A busload of politicians were driving down a country road when the bus suddenly ran off the road and crashed into an old farmer's field. The old farmer heard the tragic crash so he rushed over to investigate. He then began digging a large grave to bury the politicians.
A few hours later, the local sheriff was driving past the farmer's field and noticed the bus wreck. He approached the old farmer and asked where all the politicians had gone. The old farmer explained that he'd gone ahead and buried all of them. "Were they ALL dead?" asked the puzzled sheriff. "Well, some of them said they weren't," said the old farmer, "but you know how them politicians lie."

One day, when a seamstress was sewing while sitting close to a river, her thimble fell into the river. When she cried out, the Lord appeared and asked, “My dear child, why are you crying?”

Lord, I’m not in the best of health and would not be able to take care of all three husbands, so THAT’S why I said ‘yes’ to George Clooney.

Thing You Can't Choose In Life

Before you proceed, do you have anything in mind that suits the title? Here I assume that you don't, so I'm going to tell you about my answer : Mother(actually should be parent but since its special occasion, this will do)

To be honest, my family seldom celebrate any occasion or festival, except for Chinese New Year & Christmas for the recent few years. Harvest Festival, National Day, Easter, Mother's day & Father's day are just like all other normal days, and the only difference is that me & my brother won't have to go to school, that's all. However, as far as I remembered, during all these occasion, we were always by their side, which I'm grateful that we did(except for this year, but I'm certain that they won't want me to waste such money just to go back for few days & celebrate with them).

This post, is dedicated to my one & only one beloved mum, who I call her mama ever since I learned how to speak. At first, I planned not to do anything this time just as all previous years except giving her a call & greet her "Happy Mother's Day". My decision changed after I read some of others' post, especially the 1 from Jaevon where hers inspired me most. Hers reminds me of a piece of essay I wrote, where I compare myself with kids from other families. I was not allowed to watch TV when they did during night time, I was forced to have oatmeal while others are having coke & burgers, I was sent to music lessons while others are playing PS/Gameboy, and I was not given a handphone & PC/laptop till I finished my SPM(although this is my dad's decision). But till the end, I realize that all the things she did is for my own good and made me special & more successful compared to all those spoiled brat who are destined to fail in their future. This essay was considered kinda unique compared to others who wrote how happy they are when their mother bought them something or how good their mother is for not scolding/caning or not treating them as "slave".

Now, as I recall back, most of the things she had done is still very fresh in my mind(although some I can't remember why she did that).

I still remember / realized:

The trouble & time she spent to send & pick me up from all those tuitions and extra class(stopped after Form 2)
How hard it is to cook every meal for us due to all our different likes & dislikes
How she defended me a few times from being expelled by my dad for doing something terribly wrong
Why she caned me(too frequent till I can't recall back all the thing I did till she caned me)
Why she slapped me(this, I can remember as it only happened once)
The times we cried together when watching some touching episodes
How difficult it is for her to do all the house chores

and many many more.....

Final words from me :

"I am really thankful for being the fastest & strongest among millions of my sibblings to be able to win the race & win the fight to receive the greatest prize in my life. Condolence to all of you who were dead as a result of losing the fight."

Let me take some examples :

If you want to buy something, you have to exchange it with money, which is equal to the price of the item.

If you want to score good results, first you have to strive & study hard for it.

If you want to do anything, you will have to sacrifice a portion of your time in doing it.

If you want to generate energy, you will need a resource or another energy to be converted.

"There must be sacrifices & gains in everything, and this is the concept of 'equivalent exchange' which is also the theory of life"

However, if we look at it from a different perspective, it will be a bit contrasting and confusing.

Although it is an undeniable fact that to obtain something, one must first sacrifice or exchange something which is worth the price. However, is this always true that after you sacrificed, you are guaranteed to obtain what you want? There are also some people out there, who are granted what they want since their birth. Do you think this is fair?

To tell you the truth, it is. For what you sacrificed, you obtained something, although most of the time its not what you want. Instead, you gained something better, which will prove to be more useful in your future, which is experience. In the latter case, one will eventually loses everything if he/she continues to take things for granted. This can be interpreted from the fundamental rule, where after you obtained something, you will lose something, its just that the order is reversed.

I remember a friend of mine asked me whether I believe in love at first sight & I told her that love at first sight only shows that one person is attracted by the person's physical appearance.

Is my definition correct? I said so because you never meet that person & you saying that you fell in love with him/her just by looking at his/her face without knowing his/her personality, behavior, habits or likes & dislikes? So, the only thing I can think of is only the physical appearance fascinated you when you say that you fell in love at first sight.

Here's the definition by wikipedia :

Love at first sight is an emotional condition whereby a person feels romantic attraction for a stranger on the first encounter with the stranger. The term may be used to refer to a mere sexual attraction or crush, but it usually refers to actually falling in love with someone literally the very first time one sees him or her, along with the deep desire to have an intimate relationship with that person. The stranger may or may not be aware that the other person has any such notion, and may not even be aware of the other person's presence (such as in a crowded place). Sometimes two people experience this phenomenon towards each other at the same time, usually when their eyes meet.

That may be the case, but what if you fell in love at first sight, and after you know him/her deeper, you found out that he/she is really the right person for you? (looks like I'm contradicting my own view on this)

The One Who Slacks

Finally, its the long awaited weekend - a-one-day-prolonged weekend. Should I actually be happy about it? Should I feel excited? Or should I at least feel relaxed? Nope, none of those came into my mind since there are piles of homework especially from Calculus & Physics (THANKS Mr Lee & Ms Say!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!)

Despite the fact that there are so so many homework yet to be done, I am still my old self, who will put enjoyment to the top priority. Homework? Nah, they will be done when its time. Nothing to worry about it. Another inconvenient truth to be revealed here is that I was awake just a while ago (approximately 5.00 p.m) after a short "hibernation" from around 1.00 a.m the same day. Finally I recovered all the sleep deficit accumulated from all week long. What a great sensation to have.

Crabs or Craps

Do you like crabs? Well, I bet there are lots of you out there who enjoys eating crab meat especially from its pincers - the most muscled part of the crab. Also, there might be some of you who prefer the taste but due to the troublesomeness to crack open its carapace, hence feeling unwanted to have some even when its served in front of you. There might be a small group of people who has allergies towards it. Another reason I ever heard is that he/she doesn't eat crab because his/her horoscope is Cancer. Funny though.

Craps, on the other hand, is not so welcomed by everyone, as it is a rude word to replace nonsense, worthless, shit or whatever you can think of, giving the similar meaning. However, craps is also a popular dice game in the US.

Bandar Utama - A basidiomycote, commonly known as mushroom, was found growing inside a bus by a student, named Maxx, currently studying AUSMAT programme in KBU International College. According to Maxx, this was the 1st time he encountered such humorous happening and so, he decided to post it up. The mushroom was recorded to be 9.0 cm in length, 6.0 cm in width and 4.0 cm in height. A study had been initiated following this event, to investigate how does this species able to grow from a spore and hence survive in such condition and environment, which consist of only metal and rubber. Another passenger, preferable known as Mr. X, said the position where the mushroom was found, had frequent water leakage from the air conditioning system. That may be the reason for the mushroom to be able to bloom on inorganic materials. This was worth-studying in order to determine whether other species of basidiomycote can grow on other inorganic material such as plastic, with only water is provided.

Final Post Of The Year (Lunar Year of Rat)

It is past midnight now therefore today is officially the last day of the year.
Most probably this will be the closing post of January 09, for there won't be any thought-provoking event(s) happening during the coming few days - the 1st star-crossed Chinese New Year for me (better touch wood).

Since the EALD subject victimize majority of its students, it was crystal clear that some of the sufferer did improve themselves or maybe even surpassed their old selves. Honestly, I knew myself better than anyone else, for I'm not an ideal person for blogging; but still, I will try my best to conquer myself for the sake of my future & a beatific life for my family.

Here's something that I wish to groan, it was some act of somebody, whom I went out with yesterday. He asked me out to Sunway, telling me that we will have some fun, either by wetting ourselves in the lagoon, or get our body lying on the ice surface, or to screw some machines there. As the inconvient truth, we went to watch a movie. After we vacillate for some half hour, we(or should I say they) made it clear that the movie will be Red Cliff 2. By mentioning that I did not intend to critisize or talk anything bad about the movie, for it is really magnificent as well as worth watching.

Instead, I would like to say that it was an embezzlement to me that they wasted my precious 6 hours of a day(not including the 2 1/2 hours movie time, that were worthwhile) - typically one quarter of the day, for merely transport purpose while I can just cycle for 15 mins (comparatively 30 mins including the return trip) to the same-as-big cinema in One Utama for the movie?

Well, that's enough of babbling from me about that incident, for I can say no more about it(and about them). Taking this opportunity, I would like to wish everyone of you who will come or came across this page an ECSTATIC CHINESE NEW YEAR. Welcome Ox!!!

This is not actually a post or somehow it it more to an assignment to be done on this blog.
There are all together 6 questions about my studies and...here goes :

1. Where do you read and study?

~Where else? definitely my room. With "him" in the same room as me studying or reading something intensively, i will feel very ashamed for spending too much time on my lappy as well as taking afternoon nap(although that's what I always did..)

2. What is the best time for you to read?

~Anytime is okay, but still have to depend on my mood. Howerver, with so much drama series copied into my hard disk, I can't resist from being 'seduced' and sit in front of the monitor. But still most of the time i read after I have my dinner.

3. How long do you normally study without a break?

~This is a question that i don't feel like answering. Its not good to reveal this type of answer - I can't manage to study continuously for more than half hour(that's the max). After that, I will find myself doing something else rather than continue studying.

4. What type of distraction bother you the most?

~During my previous years, the biggest distraction is the voice of actors/actress from the "magic box" in my living room of which my parents are watching. But now, I realised that it was actually my own problem, for I can't sit still & concentrate on anything over long period of time.

5. On average, how many different assignments do you work on in one evening?

~Another dependent event. For over 18 years knowing myself, I will only finish up the assignment (more on homework) given on that particular day, and I will assume that I settled everything. Unless somebody else is urging me (maybe even brute force is needed) to do something else, I will just postpone it till sometime later in the future.

6. What types of rewards might work for you?

~I'm a really materialistic person, hence the best reward for me is money. This make the JPA scholarship the biggest reward i ever receive and therefore, i must work better to receive bigger & more encouraging reward(s).

A New Thing To Learn & To Do

Well, I hereby officially announce the launch of this blog, but it was not of my own free will, as I was forced to do it as a part of my studies. Maybe i will get use to it some days in the future, who knows?

Its my brand new studies, where the real AUSMAT course begins. Although the lecture time is as loose as the previous 6 months, don't think that i can relax as much as i did last year - sleep whole afternoon after class, then stick to my laptop the whole night, procrastinating all my homework till the last minute and watch drama series until past midnight, or even sometimes i did not sleep at night time. This is the real deal that will decide my future, more important than anything else.

This morning, by merely hearing the course outline for my English course (EALD), it was enough to make me suffocate till the end of the day. Indeed, there was a good news that there won't be any test(for this subject only) until the mid-term test, but all the assignments are life-taking.

Since all here are events that will affect me badly, it doesn't matter if I add another bad news here. I will be staying in KL here for my 1 week Chinese New Year break. Plus there will be some sort of new assignment to be done during that break, as well as some tests that will come either before that or after.
